Regional weekend was a great success thanks to all of the help from the Northshore area’s. I would also like to give a big shout out to our new A&F chair Harley who did a fantastic job with the event.
The business on Saturday & Sunday afforded discussions in areas of business including budgets, public information, hospitals & institutions policy, Southern Zonal Forum issues and business at the World Service level. Specifically, we discussed the difference between encumbered and unencumbered funds and how to better manage the annual budgets. Public information was discussed regarding internet exposure and billboards. Getting more information to treatment centers and detox facilities. A main goal is to draw more people to meetings and keep them there. For H&I we have opportunities at the regional level for service in Angola.
9 out of 10 areas were represented IN PERSON by their ASR’s. 18 people in attendance which is a good number for a regional event. A great big thank you to all of the home groups that cooked meals and volunteered their time for the function. Thank you to Jeannie O., who spoke her experience, strength and hope; Rachel and Harley for putting on N/A Jeopardy; volunteers that worked the front door, drink service and 50/50 raffle. Thanks to Mark H., who provided the sound system and music.
Regional weekend profited almost $300 after paying back seed money. More information will be available once the Regional minutes come out.
In Loving Service,
Charles W.
